Mrs Ella Atkins Dead
Passed Away at Home at Crab Orchard

Funeral & Burial on Thursday Crab Orchard,
Neb Jul 31--Mrs Ella Atkins passed away at her home in Crab Orchard at 5:15
a.m. on Tuesday July 30, 1935. She had been in failing health for a year
and her final sickness was of about 2 weeks duration. She had reached the
age of seventy-two years., nine months, and sixteen days. Ella Switzer was
daughter of John and Mary Switzer and she was born near Dayton, OH Oct 14,
1862. At the age of four years she came with her widowed mother to Tecumseh
and settled on a homestead in the Spring Creek vicnity. She received her
education in the country schools. She married to Eudoras Atkins at Sterling
on March 1, 1882 and five children were born to this union. After their
marriage the family resided in Kansas for ten years, returning to Nebraska
in 1893. For eighteen years the family resided on a farm five miles southwest
of Crab Orchard. After the death of her husband on Oct 25, 1933 Mrs Atkins
located in Crab Orchard. The deceased was a member of the Crab Orchard Methodist
Church. She is survived by her five children who are:

Ethel wife of William Frederick of
Burwell
Roy of Olney Springs, Colorado
Goldie wife of J.H. Varney of Culbertson
Jessie wife of Elmer Ballard of Crab
Orchard .
There are 2 brothers, 1 sister and 17 grandchildren
. The funeral services will be hel (this) Thursday at the Methodist Church
at 2:00p.m. with the Rev. Glen W. Marshall in charge. the interment will
be in the family lot in the Crab Orchard Cemetery

Ralph Deal
Last rites for Ralph Deal, who died last Friday
in Mohave General Hospital, were conducted from the Memorial Chapel of the
Clinkenbeard-Van Marter Mortuary here Tuesday.
Mr. Deal was born in Kansas on February 7, 1884,
and had lived in Mohave for the past five years and one-half years. He was
a retired farmer.
The Reverand John J. Johnston of the Babtist
Church officiated at services and later at Mountain View Cemetery.
He is survived by his widow Dora May Deal, of
Kingman, three daughters, Mable Mckinney, of Colorado, and Ruth Sheaver
of California, and three sons, Ralph Deal and Jake Deal, both of California,
and Norman Deal of Colorado.
Also surviving is a stepdaughter, Mrs. J.C.
Moore, of Kingman.

WHO DIED SATURDAY
Funeral services were conducton on Tuesday afternoon in the Childs
Burgat Chapel for Joseph H. Deal, whose death ocurred Saturday, July 6,
(1957) in the Hoisington Hospital.
Officiating during the services was the Rev. G. L. Kennon, pastor
of Trinity Babtist Church. Interment was mad in the Hoisington Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers during the rites and interment were Al
Bott, Joe Clark, Leonart Quint, J.B. Ochs, Ray Humphrey, L. W. Arbsland.
The following obituary was read during the service.
Joseph H. Deal was born May 21 1880 to Lucy and Jacob Deal on a farm
eight miles north of Hoisington. He was baptized into the Babtist Church
at Oklahoma City at the age of 18. In his earlier years he traveled ovet
the central part of the country as a horse buyer and trader, he then settled
in this part of the country as a laborer and painter until about 10 years
agao when he fell off a ladder and broke his back since that time he heas
been in retirement.
He passed away Saturday, Jul 6, 1957 at the age of 77 years, 1 month
and 16 days at the Hoisington Luthern hospital where had been a patient
for the last six weeks.
Survivors are his widow, Iva, two step-sons, W.D. Decker of El Dorado,
Kansas, Lou Decker of Pueblo, Colorado, and one step-daughter, Mrs Harvey
Snyder of Wheaton Mo., One living brother L.P. Deal of Muskegon, Mich.,
and a number of neices and nephews. Five brothers and two sisters preceded
him in death.
